Can We Get 250 Turkeys to the Petaluma Kitchen by noon Friday 11/20? Please forward!

Dear Friends, We put out a call for turkeys a couple of weeks ago and unfortunately the response has not been as strong as it was last year. One of the reasons may be that the stores are limiting the numbers of turkeys people can purchase.

We'd like to give each of the families we serve a turkey. It's not the end of the world if that doesn't happen--they'll still eat of Thanksgiving--yet having a turkey on Thanksgiving is one of those things that helps people to feel "normal" and part of society.

So, the Petaluma Kitchen still needs TURKEYS! Can we pull out the stops and get 250 turkeys to the Kitchen by noon on Friday November 20? We are planning to distribute turkeys on Saturday November 21. We also love to offer a great traditional meal at the Kitchen on Thanksgiving Day, serving 150 or more people.

We accept donations any day of the week from 7am until 2pm. We are located at 301 Payran Street, one block south of the Petaluma Public Library.

Would you please forward this message to your friends? If you have questions, please contact us at 707-778-6380 or at elizabethh@cots-homeless.org. Thank you!

I'm in! Thanks for posting this....

P.S. Safeway has turkeys for $6.77, $7.77, and $8.77. Tofurkeys are a bit more.

Happy Thanksgiving to all! We Petalumans have a lot to be thankful for. This is one of the most beautiful places on earth.
