The city is spending millions to make that area look nice to encourage other business in that area and to bring tourism to town which benefits us all. What you are doing there only benefits you and they are not going to allow you to keep trashing it up! If I was you I would make sure that you have the proper business operating according to your city business license and that it conforms to the State Board of Equalization parameters for business type and that you check the city signage code for all your signs. Throwing up sandwich signs on a regular basis on all the surrounding lots is illegal just like your 15' tall sign was. If you want to anger those at city hall, you are straight on a path to do just that.

Wow Boop! You keep bringing up my name... Obsess much?

I hate to add to this, but I don't think this forum is the place for personal accolades.

If you have something constructive to say about the topic, then lets hear it.

This personal dialog can go somewhere else, please. Maybe P360 can add a section "Personal Rants" or something.

I keep logging in to see some constructive, open dialog and all I see are personal posts. Let's see if we can stick to the topic please.

Thanks,

WILL

I remember when the TOOL sign went up originally and it didn't seem such a problem for me. Small time person trying to make an honest living during these hard time...shame on him. What I am more surprised about is not hearing about all of the cursed graffiti on the "D" Street side. That is so more appropriate and has been there longer than the tool sign. When is good old "Boop" going to get out there and do something about that?? Why is it we are so focused on someone trying to make a living, but we can't seem to get the tons and tons of graffiti covered?? That is where you should be spending your "painting" time at!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

"Small time person trying to make an honest living during these hard time..."

A small time sign ordinance breaker and a one man assault that is doing the best he can to make that area look like a trash holler. It's a constant yard sale going on in there. Hey r8, maybe you can go work for him and help him out if you are so concerned about him making it.

Not really concerned if he makes it or not, do wish success for all. Was wondering why the stink for him and not for all the graffiti that is making the bus depot look at lot worse than the clean painted TOOL sign. The graffiti and tall grass is what makes it look like a "trash holler"

I have asked why there is so much graffiti, suggested to an officer that he makes any known gang member clean up the paint. He said they couldn't do that, point out someone that way, guess it is politically incorrect. I think if they work like a gang, they should be responsible as a gang. Make a go-round in the van and pick up the gangers on a Saturday and make them paint their like symbols. Maybe they would get sick of it and quit painting??
I just was curious why the TOOL sign made such a stink, yet the graffiti remains.

R8, sorry but it seems you can only make statements to boop, she really doesn't answer questions for obvious reasons.

Thank you...so can anyone tell me what to do about the offending graffiti. I have been staring at 12' high letters for months now. And have seen the sh"teaters logo all over town. I realize that I could paint it and would love to go over and paint USA on it, or P-Town, but where is the lesson in that?
I'm not sure even when the taggers get the time to paint so large of an object and not get seen!?!?!?!

Graffiti hotline is under contact information on this link towards the bottom. Link If the city lakes to long, I can't see anyone from the public getting in trouble as long as your paint kind of matches the building.

I am so happy to see that my original comments on the illegal sign have inspired king and r8rfan to pick up the baton and run with it to find ways to rid the city of more blight. I've shown first hand what one person with an eye toward civic pride can do in eradicating the blight that illegal signage is.

Now that you two have stepped up to the plate to rid the cityscape of graffiti, we'll all be anxious to see the results of your work.

Thank you again for allowing me to have the shoulders that you may stand on to start your quest. Any of you that want to continue to live in a holler, well, just step aside and let's see what these two great citizens of Petaluma can accomplish in ridding the city of graffiti!

Actually Boop, it just amazed me that you started such a stink about the TOOL sign, yet not the graffiti. I REFUSE to paint over graffiti as I nor my children are responsible for that garbage. I mentioned before my solution to the graffiti problem, although was told it was incorrect to punish a "group" when noone was "caught in the act"

So, you are just another chat board poser that complains about others with your hollow bravado.

Also, your reason for not cleaning up the graffiti makes no sense. The good news is that it fits right in with all the other blabberers that endlessly complain about stuff but don't have the stuff to back it up. Get out there and volunteer to help!

I got the Welcome to Hooterville tools sign taken care of, so let's see you in action. BTW, how do you know your kids didn't spray that graffiti??? The parents are always the last to know when the cops show up at their door with their little angels.

I can guarantee that my kids did not and would not graffiti. They have morals, they respect people's property, and they are way to busy to do meaningless things like that.

Why should the good citizens of Petaluma volunteer their time and effort cleaning up after gang graffiti. There has to be a way to make them accountable for their actions. In fact in kids were made accountable for their actions by their parents in the first place there wouldn't be such the problem.

As far as being a chat board poser, I thought that is why people respond to these articles, to put forth ideas and opinions. Not to attack people for their ideas, but to consider and broaden your own thinking. I really could care less what your personal opinion is of me, although I do take your comments into considerations when I am forming my own.

I have old school morals and do raise my children as such. If what/how you post on here indicates how you raise your children, then I can see how your little angels may have received a ride from the policeman. Sorry for you.

Also, I volunteer in our community. I have children and have been involved for years. Keep your tongue to yourself regarding personal attacks until you know to whom you are regarding. But on the other hand, I do so enjoy your foot in your mouth.

Would love any suggestions for finding away for graffiti artists to remove their own tags. Shouldn't rest on the community.

r8rfan, while I agree with the sentiment, there actually IS a good reason for the community to handle it until we get the thugs to... Basically, when graffiti isn't cleaned up quickly, it becomes a spraypaint turf-war site. Worse, letting gangs mark territory as their own gives the message that they can take over, and the drop in property values makes buying into the then-blighted area easier. All-around not a good situation to be encouraging, really.

don't respond to boop unless it's your last resort, she thrives on it. I'm sure most would not want to stand on her shoulders, but wait till she needs to pick up something on the sidewalk etc.....
