Pikko,

Some how, you had to find a store that had those running shoes. Thanks for giving my store a shot, as expensive as you may think it is, no other store has the variety I have.

Tahoe, ca and the others who support downtown merchants (and all of Petaluma) - Thank You!

ca is right, there was a point and time they were the "new kids on the block" and those tried and true need the business too.

To everyone - I hope 2009 is a good year!

Now I hear that The Chic's Nest consignment store is closing!!! This is just awful.

As far as Theatre Square goes, I think it has a lot of potential. I look forward to eating Powell's gelato this summer while walking around. La Dolce Vita is a charming place to have a glass of wine with girlfriends and I adore Haus Fortuna.

Add Linch Jewelry on Western to the list. And people who had watches/jewelry in for repair were not notified! The owner claims he is moving to another location, but I don't think that's likely.

Yes, it is sad to see businesses close, this is truly a tough time.

But, there are new businesses coming too. I keep up with the ones near me but I am sure there are more new ones coming. Here in downtown, there is Planet Beach already open, Subway on the Blvd will be opening in the Square as well. High Tech Burrito is now open where Great Wraps was.

Down at the ol Deaf Dog is a new Ice Cream shop going in. Cucina may not be new, but it has occupied a new spot as well.

Hopefully we have some good solid businesses that can survive this economy. Hopefully the community can do their best to support these businesses.

The new ice cream shop is interesting but gelato at Powell's has quickly become a favorite after dinner treat at our house.
