I believe it's Michael Moore filming his latest documentary. It's about government incompetence at the local level. Specifically, he'll be exposing one city's streets by showing that they're in worse condition than those in Kandahar.
In the film, I think he asks Pam Torliatt if she would ask her family to drive down Kentucky Street, N. of Washington.
Maybe he should have asked her if she regularly drives on Howard between Washington/Bodega Ave. and Western Avenue. I admit it's nice to have Washington repaved, but it makes Howard Street (especially in the block referenced above) seem like one huge pot hole.
No wonder people don't post things on these forums, Gonzobuggs I didn't ask for your poltical bs and it doesn't answer the question, plus Michael Moore will probably not be doing any more documentarys, but then again you probably don't read up on that type of stuff. And PTOWNKIDSTAXI what does Hummer and China have to do with Petaluma, again it doesn't answer the question.
Someone needs to ask the City Council if any of them has had to wait for a bus at that sorry excuse for a "Transit Mall". Who designed that thing, and how much were they paid?

I think you miss the point of the transit mall. Our misguided traffic engineers needed another excuse install yet another traffic light in an effort to pointlessly impede the flow of traffic as much as possible. The transit mall gave them the perfect excuse.
The Petaluma Transit center was a County designed & funded project in a very limited partnership with the City. Public transportation is very important, especially when SMART is in place nearby. I have to agree with the flawed design, it doesn't seem to shelter from the elements. It would be great to see this area (Pittler parcel across the street) further developed, so there is retail establishments nearby. The Train Depot was used for a movie, years ago. It was very fun to watch being made. Love to see more movie/commercial making in Petaluma.

I think it was a bit misguided. Very few people use it. I would have preferred to see that money spent on more bike lanes, improved roads and a better way to travel outside Petaluma.
The North Bay lags way behind the rest of the Bay Area when it comes to public transit. While I think it's great that we'll eventually get "three lanes all the way", I'd much rather see a BART track installed.

We will never have bart, we lost out on it because of marin. The closest thing we'll have is the new smart train. Hope the smart train will run on weekends, evenings etc.. for connections to giants, niners, concerts etc....
