We just finished watching President Obama explain the pending health care bill to the American people and I have to tell you, I was overcome with a burst of pride watching and listening to him talk.

I understand that most of the participants on this board were tuned into Fox and didn't get a chance to see their president as Fox was showing a reality dancing program. The good news is that under Obama's plan, even they will be protected. They don't have to participate at all in our democracy but we will still give them health care as American citizens.

I didn't see the republicans applauding the president and can only guess that they were thinking about their upcoming teabagging parties and death panels.

I have never been so PROUD of a president and have never been so EMBARRASSED by the republicans. And what is up with those republicans yesterday that would not let their children watch President Obama's school speech??? I feel so sorry for those children. Their parents remind me of that angry lady in Michigan that would not give Halloween candy out unless the kids pledged that their parents would vote for McCain and Nanook.

Boop, don't you mean Fox News? Judging by my clock, Obama's speech was on in the 6:00 pm hour. Last time I check, Fox does not run their national programming during that hour. So, next time you want to start an argument with some of the more conservative people on this board, get your facts straight.

Seriously, why do you continue to dig yourself into a hole? As someone who likes to read comments more than post them, I find it hard to actually post a comment in support of anything that you mention. It's not that I am against every single cause you are fighting for, which I am not, it's the fact that I don't want to be associated with someone like you who obviously is looking for an argument instead of a rational discussion.

Btw, I, too, enjoyed the speech tonight. I hope it changes the thinking of certain ultra conservative fear pushers. Now, if only our representatives would work together to find a way to pay for this...

elchicogordo, I think the second part of Boop's post was about the president's School Speech which ran during school hours. Most of the children in the country had the opportunity to listen to the speech (except for the kids with nincompooop parents who pulled them out of their classrooms).

who cares, in the end enchi is right about boops social problems, you have to cringe just to agree with her. If you do agree with her, but disagree with her on another subject, she throws you under the bus. Just immature old lady, that is infatuated with our current president, with whom many that she criticises voted for. Damn I forgot, my bad. boopy made this thread to get many to respond, just to make herself look important. The best thing for others to do is not respond, sorry for doing it.

Well, the teabaggers have spoken then. Why are you so angry king? Your anti-Boop campaign has about the same success as your teabag parties.

JEH is correct- after listening to Fox News/Glen Beck, etc and the fake "uproar" about Obama sending a "socialist message" to school children to work hard and stay out of trouble, a large number of fairly dumb parents did not allow their children to hear his speech. Hopefully their friends told them about the speech so they have a chance to not end up as dumb as their parents.

Maybe Obamas friends at ACORN can open health clinics under the new health reform. They certainly know how to work the system.

Hey Lone, Obama is the PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES and McCain is the loser. The election has been over since November, time for you to grow up and admit it eh? Why are you so disrespectful of the presidency? Because he is so well educated and Bush was such a dummy and you are not used to hearing complete sentences coming from the president for the past eight years? Are you one of those teabagger terrorists that the GOP is distancing itself from?

I respect the presidency, not the president. The last complete sentence I heard from Obama was calling someone a jackass. I agree healthcare can use reform, I just don't feel that the federal government should be competing with private companies to provide health "insurance". I cannot think of one example of when the government got involved and made a system affordable or more efficient. The cost will be born by increase in our taxes while lowering the level of service if the government is allowed to provide an "option".

Hey baby boop:
Our PRESIDENT, Barack Obama, is a cookie-cutter Democrat bent on promoting a radical liberal agenda that absolutely tears the constitution to shreds. If you couldn't see that through your pride for our new president, then he has fooled yet another American citizen.

Why do all the right wing Glen Beck loons end up in this chat room? Didn't Obama garner something on the order of 75% of the votes in Sonoma County?
You guys are so mixed up from listening to Fox News that you have literally lost your sense of direction and will follow any loony fringe that you see on the TV. That totally INSANE lady birther lawyer, Glen Beck teabagging, etc. You do know that the United States of America includes ALL of the people, ALL of the time, even the ones that can't figure out that we all can be covered for healthcare and it is OK. Are you that much of a group of heartless people that you don't want to see those less fortunate than you covered. What kind of people are you?

What about when you fake republicans that think someday you will be rich (yeah, right- the top 2% of the wealth is in chatrooms in Petaluma), get sick yourselves and your carrier DENIES YOU COVERAGE and you end up owing $100,000 because some lady talking on a cell phone smashed into you at a crosswalk and you end up losing your house? You'll quick turn into a compassionate democrat in a heartbeat. Lot of dumb in this room over health care reform buds.

I'm sorry Boop, where exactly in our Constitution or Bill of Rights does it say ALL people are entitled to Health Care?

Oh, that's right, I forgot you don't answer questions with real answers. Only put downs.

You are your 4th grade antics. Actually that would be putting down 4th graders.

But, then again you are the one that did not know Hawaii was part of the US.

There you go with 4th grade antics again. Actually that would be putting down 4th graders.

Barack Obama embodies useless spending, just like the rest of his kind. i.e.: bailout

and if he isn't a socialist, why has he bailed out companies, nationalized a few car companies, and already began pushing healthcare "reform"
