Went to return DVD rentals back to Hollywood Video and they have completely cleared out. Gone. What gives? They didn't give us any notice at all. Looks like it's Netflix for us. Don't get me started on Blockbuster.

I had no idea that those nationwide chains, brick and mortar places still existed. Smiler I hope Silverscreen can make it with all the mail order competition out there..

SILVERSCREEN IS VERY GOOD, AND THEY ARE VERY FRIENDLY THERE. YOU CAN GET THREE DVDS FOR $9.99 A GOOD DEAL, ALSO THEY WILL PUT A MOVIE YOU WANT ON HOLD TILL 7PM IF YOU CALL THAT DAY.

We've been customers of Silverscreen for years and we are extremely happy with their selection availability and more so with their personal customer service.

Many years ago, we would use Blockbuster because it was more convenient, but one day when they would not allow our three year old to use the restroom, we never returned...

The clock is ticking on all of these places. The future present is Internet delivered content. Netflix has recognized this and is quickly transitioning their business model to online content delivery. Video rental businesses are knocking on death's door, and it won't be long before they're all gone.

The next victims will be the broadcast networks. TV will no longer be broadcast, but will be posted, and you'll watch it on demand instead of time-shifting a broadcast with a DVR.

Good riddance to video stores and late fees. Now all we have to deal with is ridiculous DRM policies.
