Dear Wilson School Community Members:

There are some exciting things happening at Wilson School and as a valued community member I would like to make you aware of some of them:

♦ Invitation to Wilson School Historical Site Ceremony: Wilson School has a rich history that started in 1863. The Native Sons of the Golden West will recognize our history on Saturday, September 19th at 1:00 PM by placing a historical landmark plaque. The ceremony will be at the front of school followed by a reception in the Cluster Building. We will have some old yearbooks on display. I would like to take this opportunity to invite you to the ceremony and reception. This should be a great chance to share your memories of Wilson School and to reminisce with old Wilson School friends.

♦ Clean Drinking Water: Our long anticipated Water Project to bring drinking water from the City of Petaluma to Wilson School and the Wilmar Volunteer Fire Department has been approved. With funds received from the ARRA Funding, we should be drinking water delivered from the City of Petaluma by the new year.

♦ Scholastic Ranking: Our Academic Performance Index (API) last year increased to an impressive 848. The gold standard for schools is 800. This year’s results should move us even higher.

♦ Facility Improvements: We have continued our efforts to improve our facilities and have recently completed a remodel of the Cluster Building, our baseball field is now host to youth baseball and softball teams and our Greenhouse/Garden is being utilized to provide additional learning opportunities to our students. All of these improvements couldn’t be accomplished without the support of our wonderful parent volunteers.
