Sure could use a GOOD breakfast/lunch place in that location. They have been doing some sidewalk work outside....but it looks like it is still for lease.

The "for lease" signs have come down and the doors were open day before yesterday and it looked like it was being surveyed for renovation.

The east side really needs a great breakfast place like Marvins or Hallies on the west side.

Thanks for the update Big Dog. Good suggestions too! Maybe Marvin's and Hallie's could open a joint venture there. Hmmmmm.....call it Mallie's? or maybe Harvin's?

The doors were open and the lights were on this morning as I passed by. Looked like someone was doing some work so something's coming. I'll stop by and see if anyone will answer a question if I get a minute.

There is a banner out front of the old Essa's announcing "Peppermill" opening soon. They also have a 6 AM opening time posted so it sounds like us east siders will be able to grab an early, convenient bite.

Not known if there is any affiliation or association with the Peppermill chain.

Thanks for the info, Big Dog. Hope the food is good! Keep us posted if you notice an opening date. I think the Peppermill in Corte Madera became Max's. Maybe they are one in the same?

Just an update, remodelling is in progress at the front entrance. Probably be at least a few weeks yet.

They sure are taking a long time to open the Peppermill. Anyone know what's going on in there?

Was by there last night. The signs are up outside and the interior appears to be finished, and the lights were on inside. I'd presume the inpsections and finishing stuff is being done.

If I am by there this weekend and see anybody I'll be sure to ask. I need a new place to go for breakfast on the way to work.

There is a sign posted inside the front door that Peppermill will open at 6 AM on Tuesday the 22nd of January, tomorrow.

I'll be checking it out for breakfast before the end of the week.
