We ate lunch there a couple weeks ago. Food was good.
Lots of stuff to choose from. I had a bbq type sandwich with meat.

I tried out Peppermill today, and it was pretty good. I went for a late lunch and ordered the chicken cheesesteak. The sandwiches come with soup or salad, and your choice of fries, potato salad, or fresh fruit. I went with the fries and the soup.

The soup of the day was chicken gumbo, and I was a little underwhelmed. Not bad, but not too different from what you'd expect to come from a can. Plus, the rice at the bottom of the bowl was a bit gritty and undercooked.

The sandwich was excellent though, and came with a very generous portion of fries. The chicken cheesesteak comes with a whole grilled chicken breast, pounded flat, with grilled onions, mushrooms, swiss cheese, and a thousand island type sauce that added another savory dimension, all on a French roll.

Not perfect, but I give it a thumbs up anyway. I personally tend to gravitate more toward Asian and Mexican joints, but if you're ever in the mood for some good old-fashioned American comfort food, the Peppermill delivers.

we went there last night. not good at all. I had the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and my wife had chicken alfredo. Both were just not good. Mine was smothered in a thick pasty gravy that was out of a can. The potatoes were instant. The chicken alfredo was kinda the same, gloopy, gooey alfredo sauce, with off flavors.
There are just too many good places to eat here in town to eat there.

That's too bad. Restaurants that serve instant mashed potatoes are a big pet peeve of mine. It's just wrong!

FYI, a co-worker of mine gave me a tip that, even though it's not listed on Peppermill's menu, if you ask nicely they might substitute a baked potato instead of fries, mashed potatoes, potato salad, etc. at no extra cost.

Joe the Plumber - you are right, which is why they had to change their name.

To all you foodies...I keep hearing about the incredible food at 101 Casino! I have turned down invitations only to hear it is the best food and reasonable prices. Is this the best kept secret in Petaluma? Like when Norman Greenbaum was the chef at Jerome's in Petaluma and Liberty House dept. Store in Santa Rosa in the 1980's? He might have been a one hit wonder but he was a great chef!

The food at 101 casino is good for the price, but i have been going there for about 4 months and the place is always packed, but they have raised their prices twice since i started going. That means twice in four months it has gone up. Now I think they are getting greedy or it possibly could be inflation. My question is why ruin a good thing, now people are talking about the prices going up.And possibly not continuing to patron there.
