Went for lunch a couple days ago. It's pretty good. The grilled chicken sandwich was nice, and came with fries and a light spring mix salad. My friend had the vegetarian crepe which had artichoke hearts. Yes, they are open for breakfast -- seven days a week I think.

Went to Flippers for Father's day. Service is a little slow, but she did pick it up at the end. good burger. Dad had Papa Burger, and liked it a lot. I had the Clipper Burger. It was good but they forgot the bacon. Son had breakfast. Liked his french toast, really good pecan butter with it, but did not care for the sausage. Noise level is high, but that has always been a problem there. With the more casual enviroment, it is not such a turn off. I think it is a good addition to the East Side, although I do worry for Jullian's. Not a fan of their food, but they are good people there.

Went with a friend to Flipper's for breakfast this morning. Unfortunately, it's nothing to rave about. The eggs were OK, the potatoes looked good but they were bland. Bacon was undercooked. Wheat toast was like straight from the Western Family loaf. It's nice that they are open for breakfast, but the food is mediocre. Hey, chefs....read this & redeem yourselves!

I've been here for lunch on a few occasions and i wont be going back. I was in a group of 4 seated outside. they basically forgot about us. no utensils, no water no nothing for a good 15 minutes. they did say hi though. once we ordered we were ignored yet again, drinks went unfilled. Once the food came for the group, which was some time later, i was far from impressed. the burger was dry. the best part of the meal was the fries. thats pretty sad. In my opinion if you want a burger near Flippers go to Julians, if you want the best burger around hit up Mikes at the Crossroads in Cotati.

Just went there on May 17th2008.Thought we would try it out since eastside grill never made it, we thought it improved, boy was that a mistake. The food and service is horrible. The employees don't look enthusiastic.I aggree with the other post.Julian's is where its at however that particular night they had a private party. We were hesitant to go since eastside grill that we tried twice was horrible maybe flippers, wrong!!!Still horrible and will hopefully be gone soon. What were they thinking about another burger place next to Julian's?Julian's is where its at.

Julian's IS great. The fact that Flipper's now has 2 locations (also on the river where the Riverfront Grill used to be) is terribly adventurous for the owners. Bordering on HUGE mistake, I think.
I worked for many years for the extended family of the owners and I also used to work right near Flipper's when it was brand new in S.F.
Flipper's has always enjoyed great press and buzz, but the food has never been stellar. Generally overpriced for the low quality.
I had hope it had improved by now, but alas that's not the case.

I haven't tried the eastside Flipper's, but I recently tried the location next to Dempsey's, and enjoyed a great burger. The service was decent, if not outstanding. I think it may have taken them a little while to finally bring me my check, but the place was crowded and my food arrived in a timely manner, piping hot.

I'd go back again, but I'm torn because 50 feet away Dempsey's makes a damn fine burger as well.

Flipper's (westside) is OK and the lighting and views are very nice. But it's kind of icky to have to walk through the kitchen area to get into the dining area. When we walked through, there were dirty knives and napkins piled up, and a container of melting ice cream. What's up with that (first impression)?

Flipper's (both restaurants) should close down one day for lunch and take an employee field trip over to Mondo (in Sonoma).

Just to try their excellent menu and get some tips from the excellent staff.
