Everest is open in the old Cucina location in the Golden Eagle Shopping Center. They serve Indian/Nepalese food. They have a decently priced lunch buffet for around $9. Their food tastes very fresh. The restaurant is clean. Service is very good for only being open a couple of weeks now. Try it out.

BTW, Masala Jack's is opening up on the side of G&G pretty soon. A representative in the Cotati location told me they were just waiting on some furniture to come in. Let's hope this is the restaurant that actually makes it in this location. Romeo's and the Lumpia House couldn't make it.

Is Indian food the new Thai food as far as popularity goes? We went from 1 restaurant to 5 in about 2 years, if you count Masala Jack's pending opening.

The salivation continues....

Sorry to hear that Masala Jack's may be coming to Petaluma. Went to the one in Cotati and the food was horrible. Read some reviews and they are all over the board - great to terrible. Thought the food was bland and way overcooked. May be just the night I went but I'm not inclined to return.

There are a couple of coupons for Everest in the Sunshine Mailer envelope. Has anyone tried it yet? What's good on the menu???

My Masala Jack's experience was just the opposite. Best in the county next to Sizzling Tandoor. The joint on Western would come in 3rd. The one in the Golden Eagle (Everest?)... not so good, but I only tried the (very limited) lunch buffet. Dinner looks more interesting.

Yes! Indian/Himalayan is the new trend... and only 10 years after it hit SF! Wink

Ate at Everest this weekend and it was amazing! One of the best Indian/Himalayan restaurants I've been to in years. The chicken Biryani rice dish and chicken tika were delicious. I would recommend Everest to everyone. We will definitely be back. Smiler
