Yummmm. Very nice. Just opened this weekend (near Long's in the Petaluma Plaza).

Clean and open looking, nice tile floor and lots of tables. Full menu is posted on the front window. VERY reasonable prices!

I got an order to go. Big serving of basmati rice, tiki chicken and another spicy chicken/pepper dish. Under $7 for the whole thing, brought it home and it was plenty for lunch for two. Can't beat that for value.

The container was big (recycleable)

Nice folks and they didn't accept a tip!

I'm not an expert at Indian food, so if you try it, please post what is good!

p.s. Nice to see a place opening instead of closing in this rotten economy. I hope they do well.

Did you happen to see if they serve gulab jamun?

I agree 100% with TJMac. Great prices. Good portions. Very fresh. The place is clean and bright which is an improvement over the prior tenant. Once they work out all the kinks, I expect the service at the counter will move quicker.

My sources tell me that we should also be expecting 2 more Indian restaurants in Petaluma within the next two months. One at the old Cucina location in the Golden Eagle shopping center, and the other in the G&G shopping center. Seems like Indian food is becoming the next Thai food.

Excellent service, unbeatable prices and very good food. An interesting concept- Indian fast food! I was in and out very quickly and felt comfortable eating there with my children there (who can be excitable). I'm enjoying all the great Indian food that's come to town and have had wonderful experiences at the Himalayan Curry and Kabob Restaurant and Namaste, as well. Looks like we will be getting a kabob and shwarma place on F street. I wish them all the best of luck.

HAHA! I am SO there! I was in the area just tonight and I smelled something delightful and so strong it overpowered Burger King! As I got closer to where Masala Express is located, it finally hit me, that's what it was. If it smells that good, I can only imagine how good it tastes.

elchicogordo, I noticed the For Lease sign in the Paradise Tan shop is down. Is this where you mentioned a new Indian restaurant might be? Great location!

Affordable prices in this rotten economy, great service, fast, normally in Indian restaurants need to wait 30 min before you get your food on the table.

Where were you going where you had to wait 30 min for your meal?

Very nice food for affordable prices.
I will be there often to enjoy my favorite food. Especially chicken items.
when they found that they were out of Chicken tikka masala, I was asked to wait just for 2 minutes and that was ready and available.

Thanks for the nice service.

Very tasty. They are still getting the kinks out as I think they just opened a few weeks ago? Great naan and curry. Can't wait to go back.

I went there Thursday night around 7pm. By that time, it looked like the food were sitting in the tray for a while, the fish entree looked "crusty". i ordered 2 non-vegi combo for $5.99, i got 3 scoops of rice, chicken tandoori (2small thigh part, 1 wing drumette), and another chicken dish, with maybe 6-7 cubes of chicken. I WAS DISAPPOINTED. The portions were not substantial. How expensive is chicken thighs? The food tasted good, but again I didn't think it was worth the money. Sorry. For a couple of dollars more, I could've gotten a much better meal next door at Hunan Village, or Thang Long for the soup.

Nicky, how can you say it's not worth the money? Most of the entrees are priced at $3.49. We've been there twice and the food is delicious. You would pay over twice that at Hunan. Maybe they have a few kinks to work out, but this place is a culinary bargain!

OMG, This place was so good it knocked my socks off. Lamb - Good, Chicken - Good, Samosa - Oh So Good and the Eggplant dish was out of this world. The prices are so dirt cheap that it is worth a try. The food was so good, if I had any more room in my tummy, I would have ordered a second plate.

AUTHENITIC & YUMMY!
