Has anyone made the switch to At&t U-verse from comcast here in Petaluma? I see it's now available were i live on the eastside. I guess the new fiber optics are in place. Comcast fees are just unreal and i would love to break away from them once and for all. Anyway if you have made the switch what do you think? I'm looking at there whole package, TV W/HD & DVR, internet, and voice.

One thing to check before your sign up for U-verse, if it matters to you: Is U-verse making the local public access channels available (channels 26, 27 and 28 on Comcast)? As of September, AT&T still had not made these channels available.

Supposedly, they have been working with City Hall to get a feed set up.

er...it's sept now. u ever end up getting u-verse? i'm getting tired of comcast and am thinking about the switch and was also wondering about att here in petaluma.

Nope not a word from anyone...I'm still waiting to hear some good or bad news before I switch. Comcast did just add a bunch of new HD channels which is good...But they are so expensive. hopefully someone with ATT U-Verse will chime in someday.

We live on Maria near Meadow school, have had ATT U-Verse since January and love it, much better than Comcast!!. Not available in all areas of petaluma yet but they are working on it.....

I switched to U-Verse last month and love it...couldn't stand comcasts ever increasing prices and poor DVR service. With U-verse the picture is great, have all the channels, and the box is small and works great. The day I got the door hanger that U-Verse was available I called and am VERY happy. Make the switch!

Question about the box, if your tv is on the wall, what do you do with the box?

The converter box with Comcast is so thin, it fits behind the tv's that are hung.

Really interested in changing to anything but Comcast.

Call AT&T and ask if they have something for wall mounted TVs. There's always hiding the cords in the wall and having the cable box on a stand below. I've got mine on a stand; they built my house with a TV nook made for 40" max TVs, so I can't wall mount it.

I don't care for Comcast at all. Their broadband service is top notch, but their loyalty tax if you don't have cable is BS. Their cable service is substandard, at best.

DirecTV comes with outstanding picture quality and a decent DVR. They'll be launching their new DirecTV with Tivo DVR soon, and I think that will keep them on top. It's all very pricey though, but you do get what you pay for.

Dish is decent, especially in terms of price, and offers some unique international channels others don't carry. Their picture quality is quite as good as DTV, but it's a good service.

I have not experienced UVerse, but my opinion of ATT is very, very low. I've read some reviews of UVerse online and have not seen favorable opinions. Much of what I've read is around the lackluster "DVR". Use Google and search for yourself. The information is certainly out there.

Personally, my goal is to rid myself of anything ATT. Mike sounds like a good guy who cares about his customers, but that has not been my experience with his company. As soon as Apple allows Verizon to host the IPhone, I'm buying out my contract and you'll see a cloud of dust where I stood.

Hi Mike, Am I glad you posted this. I didn't know they had a retail store in Petaluma. Is it by Kohl's? I'm a retiree and keep getting calls from Florida asking me if I want U-verse. I am thinking about getting getting the U300 package.

As far as the PEG channels not only can u watch the public access channels in Petaluma but any other City that has them. If you are a surfer might not be for you, Go here to watch how it works Link
