Someone has painted it in awful colors. There is a for sale AND a for rent sign on it.
The rumor I've heard for years that people have wanted to revive it, but the sisters were not willing to sell. I see "Millie" passed away in March so I can see how that would change things. But who has it? What will become of it? And someone...please tell me all the wonderful retro furnishings are not going to be trashed. Millie's should be revived! Does anyone have the scoop??? Thanks, Anastasia |

Millie's Chili was purchased by a wonderful Petaluma Family. They are fixing the place up and love the colors that they painted it. All of the old equipment/fixtures were removed before they bought the place. Maselli's came in and "cleaned" the place up after it flooded and took all of the old equipment/fixtures away (what a shame). You should call the number on the signs and talk to the people who own it, you will really like them and they can give you much more information than I can give you.

Thanks so much for filling me in. I had no idea the inside had already been stripped. Darn.
I'm glad to know it's a great Petaluma family that purchased it. It just seems so odd that if they did, there would be a for sale and a for rent sign up. I guess this curious cat will have to get the number off the signs & call them. Hopefully they're as nice as you say and won't mind my asking. :-) I don't care for the colors, but I understand people have different tastes. I hope whatever they do with it will be great. That spot is deserving of something special. |

I stopped by a few weeks ago and asked the lady doing the painting what was going on. She said they bought it & that Vicky had passed away some time ago and that Millie's was not doing to good. She saw her in January and did not know she passed away, per Petaluma Farmers Market
I asked if she got the recipe for the chili and she said that Vicky would not give it up on her death bed to her sister. WoW! That was a GREAT place. |

Thanks Massive_Unit. Wow is right! Hard to believe she wouldn't give up that recipe to even her sister.
I never had the pleasure of eating there, but I've eyed that location for many years with utmost respect for the historical aspect of it. Hopefully the new owners will do something cool with it, especially now that I know all the retro furnishings were gone anyway. Now THAT is sad. :-( |
