I'm sure these peeps went to rp instead of petaluma because of petalumas problems w/ approving anything, and now it will only get worse. Who thought a vacant big box can never be re-occupied(it did w/ this story), unless you live in Petaluma w/ our crazy coucil?

"...and now it will only get worse."

I don't click on your virus laden links but if your quote above is true, it means things are actually getting better. The majority of people here do not want those bloated piggish big box stores here in Petaluma. End of story.

Is anything happening with the Big Four Empties in Petaluma???

Mervyn's
Couch's
Shoe Pavillion
Home Depot Yardbirds

Is the city actively trying to fill these vacancies?

Just wondering.....

I'm curious what role you believe our elected legislative body should be taking in finding tenants for privately owned buildings?

None Howard, I've made that argument time and time again dating back over a year. I was just showing the council is doing nothing to move forward or be "progressive at the moment", simply answering someones question. If you were asking krrh, than disregard my answer, I wasn't clear who you were posing your question to.

Yes, your post so very clearly shows that the Council is doing nothing. NOT! As farasI know they are doing what they are supposed to and focussing on priorities, which doesn't happen to be to shove your precious malls through the pipeline and down our throats.

Funny how others always answer before the ones I ask, but anyways, elienos said "which doesn't happen to be to shove your precious malls through the pipeline and down our throats" . The council has already stated they will be the ultimate body for all large developments, so it doesn't matter about the new planning commission(or did they hire some friends to take their new workload off of them), the council will oversee large developments, as they said, even before this decision right? I've always been for a great center that is different and represents Petaluma, not shoving and fast approval.
