I have a couple of items that need to be repaired and am wondering if there is anywhere in Petaluma that anyone knows of that provides this type of service? I have a blender and a weed eater that both need repair. Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

I don't know of any fix-it stores in Petaluma like Hardisty's in Santa Rosa.

Not sure about your weed eater, but you can purchase a new Black & Decker blender at Kohl's for $39.99. Use a coupon for 15 or 20% off -- they come in the newspaper or the mail.

Probably less than what a blender repair would cost you. Razzer

Dunno about the blender, but call Larsengine for the weedeater.

I think blenders are generally in the "either buy replacement parts or chuck it" category these days, alas.

Thank you for the input JEH & Dan. I have tried two new blenders and neither of them did half the job of my old blender. My girls love fruit smoothies and my old blender would whip them up in not time. Both new ones I've purchased could not muster up the strength to do much of anything without me stiring to assist it. So, I'm trying to get it repaired.

Next time I'm in Santa Rosa I'll have to stop by Hardisty's and I'm calling Larsengine first thing tomorrow.

Thanks again.

Know how you feel about the blender. We've got a two-speed Oster that I think cost us $80, which is either outrageously expensive or dirt cheap (relative to a Blendtec), and love that we can get replacement parts at the hardware store, but if the base stops working I think we're off to find a new one (although me being me I'll definitely open it up and try my best to avoid tripping fuses while I attempt to not electrocute myself in the process).

That is the exact blender we have, the two speed Oster. It is (or was I should say) great, used it for over 12 years then the pitcher connection to the four sided spinner on the base blender unit both stripped. I, as you indicated took the bottom of it apart and attempted to repair with new parts. A couple of hours in and with the frustration mounting I gave up. So, I'll see what it will cost to repair and compare to the cost of a new one. If I go new, I will simply have to buy another high quality Oster but would prefer to not spend all that much. I didn't electrocute myself while attempting the repair.....knew better after learning tough lessons earlier in life!

I just wanted to thank JEH & Dan Lyke. Larsengine and Hardisty's worked out great. They are both great shops, very nice people and fixed each item for a very reasonable price. Thank you both for the suggestion, very much appreciated.
