Standing on a corner with a sign advertising a business service or event?

Obviously, there's several places where this happens regularly...the guy on the corner of Lakeville and E.Washington....the closing of Yardbirds, and Liberty Insurance, etc.

Can you clue me in a bit on any aspects of this besides the boring one of standing around somewhere counting cars?

I also enjoy the guy at Lakeville & D! He always makes me smile. (hey Argus, he would be fun to interview!)

I have wondered about this myself. I would think banning this behavior would be difficult, as some may view it as protected free speach.
Most of the time the sign folks are friendly, and the guy on Lakeville is certainly entertaining... he certainly looks like he is having fun.

The guy on lakeville/ wash deserves some sort of award. Don't legislate him away!

i drove by that guy (lakeville/wash) at 1:30, actually stopped at the light and watched him dance away there. one guy walked by and gave him a high five, another stopped and danced with him for a second. drove back by again at 3:30 and he was still there dancing away. a girl on a bike drove by, stopped and talked with him for a bit. he does put smiles on peoples faces. it sure did bring a smile to mine to watch him dance there. we surely could use more of that these days!
