Hey all,

I'm looking for an indoor pool that's available to the public, via membership or even a private citizen who's interested in some kind of reciprocity exchange. I'd like to use the public pool, but I can't stand heavy chlorination; also, I burn very easily and would like to swim without applying sunscreen all the time. So, again, I'm simply looking for an indoor pool for an hour of lap swim each day- maybe as far as 15 minutes from downtown.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

The Redwood Club on Southpoint has a lovely indoor pool. You would have to join the club obviously. As for the pool at the Boys & Girls Club on Maria, it is still closed due to lack of funding to repair the leaks etc. they need upwards of $40K to fix it....

Only $40K to re-open the pool? So if everyone in Petaluma donated 80 cents we could happily be splashing in the water?

This pool was originally built with community donations.

What really bothers me is that the Boys and Girls Club got an insurance settlement on the defective pool system, and spent it elsewhere.

An indoor pool in Petaluma would be a great asset, especially to senior citizens who would benefit from water aerobics and arthritis classes.

The indoor pool at Redwood Club is very nice, and they offer daily water aerobics classes and dedicated lap swim times. You need to be a memebr there. I doubt it's your desired 15 minutes from downtown in traffic, but it is in Petaluma.
