For over 2 weeks a water tanker has been filling up every 2 hours from a water hydrant near 2600 I St. I'm sure it's more than 1000 gals each time. The water is being used to water down a driveway being built way out D Street in Marin County! I mailed the water dept. but obviously they won't answer. Does anyone know how this can happen-Petaluma water going to a Marin construction & it's not even reclaimed water?
Here's an even better question: Why is it that construction water trucks can pull up to any hydrant and fill up?
It happens all the time on Windsor Lane and I wondered how they charge for that? And that water tanker is separate trailer so I think it's more like a 5,000-10,000 gallons - a pop!
Is this something that should be reported?

The guy put a meter on this hydrant, but from what I've heard the construction company only pays for the water when they turn in the meter. They could have had this meter from another job or even kept it for years without turning it in. Watcher you're right I think this truck holds more like 5,000 gallons & appreciate your reply.
