Has anyone else noticed that garish glow in the evenings above the PG&E "Grid", over at Frates and Adobe Road?

It has been dark there at least since 2004, the time I've been living near Ely Blvd South and Caulfield. But recently, and especially on evenings with low clouds - it casts an awful light up into the night sky.

You readers can probably guess I'm a stargazer, and that is true. But the question here really is about why has the power company decided NOW to begin lighting up that station (and very poorly at that)in the evening (and ALL night), when this is the time to cut back unnecessary lighting so we may all save in the pocketbook.
