Carroll was the best I saw this year in defense, from any school. However, the entire SVHS defense deserves recognition.
On the left side, linebacker Farina, and especially lineman Haig and D-end Tarant, were outstanding in stuffing the run and harassing the passer. Haig was double-teamed each game at D-tackle, and still created pressure. Between Tarant and Haig, teams gave up the right side, which is why their tackes were a bit lower than expected. The line held against Ft Bragg, Middletown, and St Elizabeth in short yardage goal line situations - they were awesome.
Chiaparri and Cirelli were also both excellent as well. The team deserves State!
