To The People Who Have Tinkerbell,
You may or may not know that our little dog, Tinkerbell, was taken from our car at the Petaluma Factory Outlet Mall on Saturday afternoon, January 24, 2009. We had both of our little dogs with us that day because we had to make a trip to San Francisco and we didn’t want to leave them at home alone for such a long time. On the way down to the City we decided at the last minute to stop at the Petaluma Factory Outlet Stores, hoping we would find what we needed and not have to go all the way to San Francisco. The day was overcast and very cool and after taking Tinkerbell and Sadie to the grassy area at the back of the parking lot to pee, we put them back into the car and went into the Mall. My husband was sure that he had locked the car. When we returned to our car; Tinkerbell, the green mesh dog crate, both doggy beds, their baby blankets and their food and water that I had packed for the day were gone. Sadie, who is very old and can be uncooperative, was left in the car. I’m telling you this because you may not know this part of Tinkerbell’s story. We are so worried about how Tinkerbell is doing and how she’s being cared for? We wonder about her happiness, if she is being kept warm and protected? Have you taken her in for her monthly Veterinarian visit that she requires? Are you making sure she has her heartworm medicine and flea protection? Do you cook her lean ground turkey to supplement her kibble? Is she being taken on walks and given the exercise that helps keep her healthy? We are afraid for Tinkerbell if and when you don’t notice her signals that say she needs to go out and she pees in the house. We hope you understand that it is you and not her that is to blame? Are you always kind to her? Are you patient with her when she takes forever and can’t seem to find just the right place to pooh? Are you taking her to the groomer so her coat isn’t matted and her nails are safely trimmed? Is she getting lots of love and affection and companionship? Is she happy? We adopted Tinkerbell from the Humane Society. Her papers described her as a white, 6 lb, poodle mix. We are not sure what her mix is, nor does it matter to us. She is not an expensive, pedigree dog but she is treasured and loved by us because of the special relationship and deep bond we have with her. We found Tinkerbell at the Humane Society some time after our dog, Maddy, was unexpectedly assaulted and killed by another dog. Tinkerbell’s need for our love and friendship and care, helped us with the sadness and profound lose we felt around Maddy’s abrupt death. Tinkerbell’s sweetness and the affection she offered us daily is a reflection of the love we feel for her. We are absolutely devastated that Tinkerbell has been taken from our family! No words that I know express the sorrow and heartbreak we all feel about her being gone and her continued absence from our family. We think you must love Tinkerbell and that is why you are keeping her. We know that it is not about using her for breeding because she has been spayed. We understand that it is not about the money or wanting to profit by her sale because we continue to offer a $500 Reward for her return with a promise of No Questions Asked. We feel sure that you understand our love for Tinkerbell and how important she is to us. We desperately hope you can find in your heart a way to return Tinkerbell to our home and open arms. What can we do for you to make it worth your while to give Tinkerbell back to our family? Please tell us! Most Sincerely, Ellen Johnson 707 874-9415 ellen-j@earthlink.net tinkerbelladog02.jpg (71 KB, 4 downloads) Photo of Tinkerbell |

I have seen your posters all over town and I am so sorry that your dear pet is still missing.
I pray that you find her and that you are reunited very soon. Kelly |
