March 9, 2009 St.Vincent de Paul pray for us
Dear Families of St. Vincent de Paul High School: From time to time, we ask for your cooperation and partnership regarding school policies. Our cell phone policy is in need of your partnership. We know that cell phones are a fact of life for almost all of our students. They are a valuable tool for families to stay in contact with each other. Cell phones do, however disrupt the learning process in our classrooms when they ring and/or text messages are received. When this occurs, we confiscate the phone for two days for first incident, five for the second. You can assist us in two ways. If you need to contact your son or daughter, please contact them at break time (10:50-11:00 a.m.) or at lunch (12:40-1:10 p.m.) If it is an emergency, you can always contact the school (763-1032, ext. 110, 112, or 140). You can also assist by discussing this with your sons and daughters. We value, as you do, the opportunity to educate our students. A positive classroom environment, free of cell phone disruption, is a key factor. You may want to also look at the texting logs of your child's cell phone to insure that they are not receiving calls or messages during class time. As always, please contact me if you have any questions or concerns. Have a good weekend! Respectfully, Robert Blasser Assistant Principal/Student Life Attn: Parents of AP Students* (*sophomore, junior, & senior students) If your student is currently enrolled in an AP course it is time to sign up for the AP test.
