St. Vincent Day of Penance

Thank You!
We are so grateful to all the parents and donors who helped make our high school baskets so fabulous. First, I'd like to personally thank Tammy Selvitella, Jennifer Magliulo, Siobhan Stoddard, and Cheryl Boufford for representing each high school class and handling the donation questions and making reminder phone calls. Second, I'd like to thank our incredible basket wrapping and ribbon team: Carol Farnsworth, Jennifer Magliulo, Tammy Selvitella, and Siobhan Stoddard. We created 42 incredible baskets. I'd also like to thank our graphic artist, Mary Wright, for designing the A+ flyer and basket labels. Lastly, thank you to our SV staff and parents, Bob Blasser, Carolyn Neuerburg, Tracy Murphy, and Joanne Ferris for coordinating the donations and finances.
With sincere thanks and gratitude,
Barbara Streckfus, High School Basket Chair

Thank you to the following families for their generous donations to our auction High School Baskets;
we succeeded in making 42 amazing baskets and raised over $4000.00

Speech & Debate
SV Debate had a monumental weekend at the tournament in Las Vegas. In what is the representation of what can be accomplished with hard work, Kelly Del Curto and Ryan Blais earned SV's first ever bid to the Tournament of Champions. This is the most prestigious debate event each year and you can only attend by getting bids that are awarded by reaching a certain level at a national tournament. In this case, Kelly and Ryan made it to Quarter-finals. For you sports fans out there, this is the equivalent of some here-to-fore unknown basketball college making it to March Madness. Congrats to Ryan and Kelly and a huge thank you to the administration, faculty and staff, without that support, we never would have made it this far.

More good news from the debate team: we just received word that Kelly Del Curto and Ryan Blais have been invited for the 2nd year in a row to compete at the National Debate Coaches Association National Championship Tournament in Las Vegas April 17-20, 2009. Entry to this tournament is based on cumulative success throughout the year.
