| In honor of Petaluma's Sesquicentennial, Petaluma’s Tree Advisory Committee secured grant funding to purchase 150 street trees and planting materials. These trees were delivered to concerned Petaluma Citizens and planted along the streets all over Petaluma. The City Parks & Rec Department matched the grant funding and provided an additional 150 trees for the event, bringing the total to three hundred. The plantings all took place simultaneously between nine and noon on Saturday, October 18th 2008. The event was a huge success - Petaluma's streets are more beautiful, her air is cleaner, and her residents are happy to have made a difference.
