| Original Live Theater & Documentary Film Created by Actors 10 to 17 years old from Interviews with Addicts, Brain Scientists, Evolvers, Permaculturalists, Psychologists, Physical Trainers, a Martial Arts Master, a Money Coach, a Homeopath, Artists, Philosophers, & many other Creatures of Habit. A better understanding of our habits is perhaps the most important step in helping us as individuals and as a global community to live healthier, more peaceful, and more sustainable lives. 25 young actors will sit down one-on-one (or six-on-six) to talk with people struggling with habits, people who have successfully changed their habits, and experts on a wide variety of human behaviors. From methamphetamine, nicotine, and alcohol, to eating habits, exercise habits, and spending habits; from the very small, everyday, personal habits of an individual, to the habits of human societies- the HABIT project will reveal moving human stories of struggle, defeat, and triumph as well as the latest science about human behavior. Humanity is at that critical threshold where breakdown or breakthrough depends on our ability to change our habits. Is it easy to change a habit? What does it take? Are your habits making you healthy and smart? Or are they destroying you? And life on the planet? Together with playwright and director Brian Glenn Bryson, the actors will organize the golden moments from the interviews into a gripping theatre piece. The young actors will then portray the person they interviewed, word for word, drawing their portrayal from careful observation of their subject’s vocal rhythms and physical mannerisms. Throughout the piece will be stirring songs and dances performed by the cast. the HABIT project will go on a 2-week (3-weekend) tour to Theatres, Cafes, Schools, Hospitals and more.
