| OK, so this is not technically Petaluma, but the look of the oaks and rolling golden hills is quintessential autumn in P-Town. So here are a few pictures of the low sun through the oaks in Olompali State Park along Hwy 101 just south of the Sonoma County line. I was driving home from a landscape photoshoot in Larkspur and was mesmerized by the setting sun. I recommend taking a day trip to SF or Sausalito just so that you can drive back up north on 101 just before sunset. The scenery on the west side of the highway is breathtaking this time of year. The fog comes flodding on over the hills and the low sun casts beautiful shadows across the golden hills. Amazing. I used one of these pictures as my computer desktop photo while travelling in China for September to help me remember my home... |
