Sugar skull making workshop Learn to make traditional sugar skulls for Dia de los Muertos/Day of the Dead from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 25 at St. Vincent de Paul Church, 35 Liberty St. Admission is free. Harvest pancake breakfast Saturday Valley Vista Elementary School holds a pancake breakfast and harvest festival from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Oct. 25 at the school, 730 N. Webster St. Pancake breakfast includes fruit, coffee, tea and orange juice. There will also be carnival games, all craft activities and a raffle. Breakfast is $5 general, $3 children. Game tickets are 50 cents each or 12 for $5. Raffle tickets are $1 each or six for $5. Call 778-4762 for details. Farmers Market harvest celebration The 2008 season of the Petaluma Farmers Market comes to end with a Halloween/Harvest celebration from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 25 in Walnut Park, corner of Petaluma Boulevard and D Street. There will be a costume parade and contest beginning at 3:30 p.m. in front of the Gazebo. Winners of the contest will be announced at 4 p.m. Free treats will be given to children in costume and there will be a cake walk, craft booths and other activities. Bill Soberanes Halloween Festival The Plaza North Shopping Center hosts the annual Bill Soberanes Halloween festival from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 25 at the shopping center, North McDowell Boulevard. The event features trick-or-treating with the merchants. Call 762-2234 for details. Cinnabar School harvest fair Food, games, live entertainment and family-friendly activities are planned for Cinnabar Elementary School’s harvest fair being held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 25 at the school, 286 Skillman Lane. There will also be arts and crafts, a jump house, auctions and free pumpkins. For details, call 765-4345. Halloween dinner dance Saturday The public is invited to attend the Sons of Italy’s Halloween dinner dance to be held from 6:30 p.m. to midnight on Saturday, Oct. 25 at the Petaluma Veterans Memorial Building, 1094 Petaluma Blvd. South. The evening begins with no-host cocktails followed by a dinner of polenta, stew and sausages. Dancing to music played by Steve Balich Sr. is from 9 p.m. to midnight. Tickets are $20.
