I just wanted to give a shout out to the man who's dog was running around taking the soccer balls out of play and popping them.
You are a piece of work. You had no control over that dog! I couldn't believe you just stood there laughing when the dog was jumping up in a little child's face while he was holding his ball above his head... "he sure likes those ball"... yes, he does... That dog of yours must have popped 3 or 4 PYSL soccer balls. You thought WE had the problem? WE had no reason to be upset? Really? Oh and the "F*** You" at the end really showed your class... DOGS NEED TO BE UNDER VOICE CONTROL AT DOG PARKS. Watching you chase your dog proved yours isn't. |

Did anyone call the police? There's a leash law in this city and I for one am tired of people who don't obey it. And that jerk owes someone money to by new soccer balls. Too bad he doesn't have any of his own. Someone ought to have kicked him there. |

Sorry to hear of this incident and you just have to wonder about people sometimes. Thankfully, no one was hurt. The 'dog park' vs 'athletic fields' is a problem here in Petaluma. Not only because of inconsiderate pet owners but because of the dog dirt left on the playing field as well as the holes some dogs love to dig. Also, people need to be aware of the specific times dogs are allowed in the parks at all... Adults need to be considerate and understand that our limited amount of playing fields are primarily for our children and their athletic endeavors not just Fido's amusement.

Totally unacceptable and not representative of dog owners in general.
Mom, please post a description the owner and the dog, as detailed as possible. Anything you can remember would be helpful; also, talk to other parents and the coaches who were present to get their descriptions, so you can post as much information as possible. Also, exactly what time of day and what day of the week did this occur? Exactly where at Prince Park? It would not be surprising to see him show up again at about the same time and same day of the week. That will help all park users, who can be on the look out for this idiot and hopefully get him cited, plus will help the soccer league contact him about paying for the balls his dog destroyed. |

The same sort of people who let their dogs crap on 'your' field are the same people who block my street and park in front of our driveways during their kids' soccer games. They don't represent you and this particular dog owner doesn't represent me.
Please try not to make this about dogs and their owners in general. This isn't about dogs, it's about consideration and respect. The particular person involved obviously has no consideration for others. He should be judged based on his actions, not his dog, or other dog owners that happen to use the park. Many, if not most, people have dogs. Our parks are paid for by all of us and used by all of us. Unfortunately, some people simply lack class. |

I too am appalled at this man's behavior!! Completely unacceptable! This guy owes you/PYSL new soccer balls, NO QUESTION!! Please post a good description here and we will certainly try to help you find him!

If this guy treats the people in his community this way, I can only imagine how he treats his dog. If anything should happen to anyone due to his inability to control him/her, it's the dog that gets looked at as the villain.
I've currently got three dogs in my care and have been in charge of 4 to 5 at a time. If I can control them, one man should be able to control a single dog. This guy is beyond pathetic. |

Well, I had no cell phone on me and during the heat of the moment, it didn't occur to me to find one. He was an older gentlemen, maybe (don't mean to offend) in his 60's. Tall and slender. He was wearing a hat. The dog was a medium size dog, some sort of mutt... Black and brown. We were at the back of the field all the way to the left against the golfing greens. It was about 6pm when this occurred. I would recognize him in a minute if I saw him again. We'll see, I'll be there again tonight. |

Thanks for the info. FYI, dogs are NOT allowed off leash at Prince Park from 8am to 8pm until August 31. Between September 1 and May 31, dog are NOT allowed off leash at Prince from 3pm to 8pm. If a dog is off leash during those hours and bothering anybody in any way, please call it in. The animal control number is: 707-778-4396 After animal control business hours, you have to call the PD, and they send out an animal control officer (I think): 707- (looking it up) |
