Hello neighbors and homeowners all over Petaluma! Can you PLEASE trim your tree branches that hang low over our sidewalks?

I'm finding it really frustrating to have to duck the low branches or hop out into the street to avoid them.

We like to walk, and I'm at the point of snapping off the branches that are obviously neglected, and possibly dangerous to pedestrians.

Thanks !

To all those out there that think they own the trees on their property. STOP!! You may need a permit to do what you use to be able to do before. What you say? You planted the tree. Doesn’t matter the city has new rules in place that may effect what you can do. Please check with the planning department before you do anything. Oops forgot we don't have a planning department any more. Never mind cut the f$$ker down.

Carry your snippers while you are out walking. You'll be doing a favor to pedestrians. There's no reason to get slapped in the face by neglected branches. I'm frustrated by lazy homeowners who don't seem to care about their property.

That's what I'm doing. A little trimming never hurt a tree. If it's over the sidewalk, I'll cut it back.
