We avoid Kenilworth Park for the same reasons you mention, but feel like it's the wrong approach. On the other hand, the couple of times my wife has taken our child there, she's come away creeped out by the spectators and activity. Nothing illegal, but certainly not a comfortable/appropriate environment for a woman and young child.

I don't begrudge anyone a quiet place to be. But I'd rather my wife and child weren't there at the park with them. And so the park is theirs.

It's an interesting dilemma. There's a chicken/egg aspect to it. If more people used the park, would there be less seediness?
