I voted for Healy for council. What a mistake, he is a total TOOL. He brings absolutely nothing to the table.

What is up with Petaluma Insight bashing Healy? Pamela, is that you?

I voted for Mike Healy and I'm glad I did. As we look back, I'm sure many of us can say we made a mistake with the way we voted in the last 2 elections.

All of you should be ashamed of your attacks on Pamela Torliatt. "hell if he won't commit to her, why should we?" "Pam has ruined our city. She and her band of libs" etc. I firmly adhere that everyone is allowed to have their opinion, especially in the controversial world of politics, but this behavior is tantamount to that of a 3 year old child. "I WANT THINGS MY WAY AND EVERYONE ELSE IS STUPID!!". You may feel empowered by your anonymity to say things that are just plain mean, but that isn't going to make anyone have respect for your point of view. So you don't like Pamela Torliatt's political views, by all means state your opinion, vote for whomever you deem an appropriate supervisor or Mayor. But taking it to that level of insult? She is an actual person with feelings and is doing what she thinks is best for our community, just like all of you.
I would also say as she has been reelected time and again on the Petaluma Council that there are plenty of people in our community that support and respect her. It is just plain ignorant to blame the downfalls and troubles of an entire city on the shoulders of one person. Based on the postings above I have a hard time believing any of the statements are even fact based, they sound more like biased rants of those of you who don't support the "liberal agenda" of our council. Have you all been mayor of a city and dealt with the bureaucratic s%#t that takes place? Are you actively making your voice heard in the community (in a forum where you are NOT anonymous?), and finally if you are all so sure that you have things figured out and can make a difference in the city, why aren't you running for mayor or supervisor?
And very finally, I know SOMEONE will call me some sort of a liberal idiot or fling more insults. That is fine, go for it. I would not presume to consider anyone's point of view BS, ridiculous or otherwise, but not everyone is able to discuss political points of view like the adults they are.

Hammy, please list her wonderful accomplishments for the poor folk of PTOWN..that most cannot afford to run for Mayor.. I vote for David.. What has she done?

So we are the children and the hiding behind anonymous postings? So can I assume "Hammy" is your real name.
It is completely reasonable to blame Pam for what has happened because she is stonewalling the building of a future in Petaluma. When you become the Mayor of a city, you become that person responsible. Tell me what she has done to fix it. Please. OUR community is a stepping stone to Pamela's dreams of taking Woolsey's job. DO you disagree?
This is what I know, she has now divided her attention away from a city that needs a leader and she is moving on to greener pastures. This is not tantamount to a 3 year old fit, this is being pissed off that this city is circling the drain and people like you care more about her feelings than you do about a solution. Get off your damn soap box and you make a freaking idea that deals with issues, not delicate sensabilities.
C'mon Hammy, let's have a brain storm session? Pam won the election with 51% of the vote. Mahmoud Ahmadinejad got 65%. Look I did it with out slinging insults at you or call you names, could a 3 year old do that?

My goodness, reminds me of my junior high days. After Kerns, I am relieved that Pam is stepping up, though I will miss her as Mayor. And as far as cheap shots and personal attacks...notablef takes the cake. talk about the pot calling the kettle black. Where are you folks from? Is this were all the angry old people sit and complain? I'm not much of an article commenter, but I had to after reading these...I have never seen so much republican tainted one-sided anger spewed in this town. quote: Originally posted by notablef: So we are the children and the hiding behind anonymous postings? Oh no! "Alive" called me a republican. Ouch!
Thank you so much for contributing to the debate. I am glad I made you feel the need to create a profile to post under so you were able to unleash your barrage on me. So let me get this straight, am I the angry old person, or the juvenile adolescent you went to junior high with? Sounds like double speak...Pamela is that you again?
I noticed the accounts, alive, Petaluma Insight and hammy are all relatively new and except for one post, they have all only addressed Pam's run for Supe. Strange? I think not.

Hang in there folks... apparently Pam is creating yet another profile to post under.

After reading your post,I have to say you are correct. "I want things my way and YOU ARE STUPID."

Here's an interesting thought. The mayor doesn't want a Target in her town and really doesn't want Lowe's (bring in Friedman's to keep it out), clearly doesn't want any big box store like WalMart, Home Depot and Costco since they cannibalize locals and pay less than subsistence wages.
The second supervisorial district includes all those stores in Cotati and Rohnert Park (west of Hwy 101) supplying a significant part of city and county shared sales taxes to the 2nd district.

Here's another one. The mayor's supporters want the proposed asphalt plant at Haystack moved to the Central Landfill site.........that could be touchy as it's also in the 2nd District.

Torliatt, Healy, O'brien... What's the difference??? They all voted to bankrupt Petaluma when they agreed to $4 Million in unbudgetted compensation increases. Makes me inclined to vote for the wack job, John King.
