So if your rationale holds true, perhaps David Rabbitt needs to recuse himself from voting on Regency as well. For sure his posts on this forum in support of the Regency project indicate a bias in favor of approving it, notably having yet to receive any official recommendation from the PC, staff, or any public testimony on the matter.

In any case, neither Melissa Abercrombie or David Rabbitt need to recuse themselves from voting on the Regency project. Public officials and appointees can discuss their opinions on a project just like the rest of us. However, they have the burden of political accountability.

David is right to be for this project. It follows the rules land uses etc....just needs a little more tinkering with.

For someone to say they are against it no matter what. Even though it follows rules, land uses etc.... and saying it will be a huge empty building is much different and unprofessional.

No, Rabbitt would vote for the project as the travesty it is.

The thing is on the planning process. If they don't like it, and want to skip the city planning process they can put it to vote like the developers in Mendo recently did: Link

where is it stated that rabbit would vote for it as is AND that they wish to skip the planning process? they just want to get to the process of actually progressing through that process but they cannot get there.

alive, you sound like d2 all over again, just making statements that couldn't be farther from the truth.

I personally think that Rabbitt would vote for it as is, rather than voting against it. He might like it changed but if the choice was as is or no he would vote for it.

Don't put words in my mouth. Regency is going through the planning process. Enough said. If there is a problem and they don't like the way it is going, they could always put it up for a vote, like developers did in Mendo. Or they could run for office or give more and more money Than they already do) to the people they want to get in who will help them get their permits quickly, or whatever. Regency needs to go through the planning process like everyone else. Maybe they don't like it and you don't like it or even I don't but this is the political system we live in and have, representative democracy (not my first personal choice either).

Regency has gone through hoops and hurdles to get this project approved. Let me remind you that the EIR was 6 months delayed because your majority council voted to fire the entire Planning Department. How much time and money did adding a Fiscal and Economic Impact Report add to the project? Why did your mayor insist that Friedman's had to be there when Regency and Friedman's both don't want this.

What a pathetic process.

This is as good as you can do Raven? It's so funny how you majority council people can never respond to facts. This is EXACTLY why there is complete distrust in you folks.

Intelligence is facts. Look up the definition of FACTS. No roar here, just facts vs. propaganda. Until you can respond to the facts, please stop with the nonsense comments.

"you intelligence"? funny!

not anger, simply disappointment, sadness that things have gone the way that they have. reckless actions that have caused delays on bringing projects into the public forum for debate, actions that have cost the city money (in attorney fees at a minimum).

Two more pages and no one yet has come forward with actual, positive, accomplishments by Torliatt in 13 years on the council as member and mayor.

Nor do we see any positive accomplishments for Mike Healey.

Nor do we see any positive accomplishments for David Glass who now intends to run for mayor again. No doubt he intends to make the fact that he was mayor once before and managed to not do much the centerpiece of his campaign.

Wake up Petaluma....

I agree with you to a certain extent-- major changes need to be made in the way the City and the County do their business, not just tweaking and the same leaders recycling through the system.

But if nobody who is qualified steps up to run for office besides those who already hold office, you are left with making the best choice you can amongst the too familiar faces.

In other words, you must vote for the lesser of two evils (or three evils, or four evils, or ...).
