The numbers are almost incomprehensible: 10,000 jobs cut, 20,000 jobs cut. Numbers so staggering it's hard to put into perspective. My heart goes out to every person who has lost their job, had their hours cut or watched their company downsize. The sudden loss of income affects not only your wallet, but your personal pride & sense of worth. But that said.......

How many of us (ME INCLUDED!) spend endless hours cruising the internet at work, paying bills, playing solitaire, updating our MySpace page, reading Petaluma360.com, etc. Now trust me, I am ALL FOR taking as many breaks as possible. But I think we've lost sight of what actually working an 8 hour day entails. But what has helped enable these Internet fueled work days? The lack of knowledge or desire to learn about "The Internets" by most of the older generation that run the companies that employ us! Technology has flown right past them, and we've taken full advantage of the free ride! I guess my point is that these staggering job cuts were almost inevitable. Technology has finally caught up with every day life. Employers aren't paying people to watch porn & check their Ebay ratings anymore. They actually want people to work for their salaries!! This is unacceptable! We must revolt!! Someone give me an AOL CD so I can fling it at my boss.....
