I don't usually repost from craigslist, but this one made me think. Are there others out there who are starting to feel this way?

>>What is currently happening in the USA is unprecedented. The lethal combination that you listed in your post plus the huge number of illegal aliens sucking off hospital emergency rooms, food banks, etc., plus the new balance of the ethnic makeup of the population and with that statisically less workers putting into the Social Security system and paying taxes, makes for a very uncertain and especially for the white middle and upper class, unsettling time. We are absolutely heading for a depression and I am so glad my parents who worked so hard in the 50's and 60's, aren't here to see that everything they worked for will disappear into thin air. I know for certain, at the present age of 56, even working 2 jobs, I will within 5 years, seriously be looking at losing my home, my car and my life savings. It is a tragedy. The only saving grace is that I don't take it personally - I know so many people who are faced with the same situation. Anyone who denies that this depression is barreling down on us is living in an isolated dream world. Prepare for banks crashing, homes abandoned, vehicles left abandoned on the street, emergencies rooms overflowing because people can't pay their health insurance, gasoline trucks being hijacked, supermarket trucks being hijacked, airlines shutting down so no mail delivery, no banking, no interstate transport of goods or people, food banks stressed and broken into - someday it will make a great movie but for those us of alive now, it will be something unimaginable. Obama can't fix it. McCain can't fix it. And other countries in the world are watching what is happening to us and may see an opportunity to take aggressive action while we are down. Do not pretend that this isn't all happening. It is amazing. <<

If you look for evil, you will surely find it

Why stop there with your scenario? Why not talk about the immigrants to the USA (ahem...we are ALL immigrants, no?, but it sounds like a skin issue you are dealing with) forming zombie human flesh eating armies that are coming to take over Petaluma by using Craqigslist as a cyber-outpost to enlist these legions of Democratic monsters that have trained at ACORN and brought this country to it's knees.

Hail, hail to the "fair and balanced" remnants of the GOP to reassemble and re-form and fight the good war against these zombies. They have the plan, they have the supreme mother figure Gaia, er no, I mean, Sarah Palin to lead them to salvation with her low-flying airplane hunting abilities. Come on guys...and gals...join in and help defeat the democratic unpatriotic zombies that have taken over this country and installed this "Obama" menace that wants to "fix" all of the wonderful work we have done over the past eight years. Stop him, thwart him, stonewall him because he is pure evil to the GOP. He is trying to undo our beautiful plan by fixing the country and, as good republicans...we can't let that happen.

Oh, and the rumors about Michele Bachman and Sarah Palin being an "item" are unfounded. There is no proof that Palin can see Bachman's house from Alaska.

Fear Mongering?

Tough it is true that there are many "illegals" that dont pay taxes and soc sec, it is also true that there are tons of them that pay taxes and social security because the majority of "illegals" use fake soc sec numbers to get jobs. They never collect the Social security they paid into. Also, contrary to popular belief, you must show proof or residency to collect welfare.

But you can just be afraid if you want. Living in fear makes for a totally rational and coherent population.

So what about the black, hispanic, asian and native american middle class? Are their lives more certain.

Be afraid of the rich if you want to be afraid. At least you would be thwarting their efforts to divide and conquer, pit worker against worker, so as they fight for the crumbs rather than looking at the real problems...there are plenty of homes and food and all that stuff to go around, but certain folks just like to figure out how to keep more and more for themselves. That is why the economy is in the situation it is.
