The “Wild Rose” is blooming again! The 10th annual Wild Rose Golf Tournament to benefit Petaluma People Services Center (PPSC) will be held on Friday, August 7, 2009. Women at all levels of skill are encouraged to participate. The enthusiasm from the community for this kind of tournament has been wonderful. Many business leaders have already demonstrated their support by signing on to volunteer on the day of the event as well as pledging their financial support.

PPSC is a multi service non-profit organization dedicated to improving the social and economic health of our community by providing programs that strengthen the dignity and self-sufficiency of the individual. PPSC is in its 36th year of service to Petaluma and southern Sonoma County. PPSC has five significant core service areas: Counseling, Senior Services, Homelessness Prevention & Fair Housing, Transportation, and Employment & Training. Many people are already familiar with our successful “Meals On Wheels” program that, with the enormous help of our volunteers, served over 30,000 meals last year to our community elders.

As you can see, PPSC is the silent ‘safety net’ for many of our citizens. You probably know someone who has benefited from our services. We should all be proud to live in a community where people take care of each other. We need your help in taking care of those in our community who need help. One way to provide support is to become the event sponsor for this “budding” event.

You can make a real difference here in Petaluma. We would truly appreciate your participation. Please PPSC if you are interested in golfing, sponsoring or volunteering. 765-8488.
