I love how you Build-now-no-matter-what folks consistantly discredit yourselves by constantly pointing fingers at the same people no matter whose fault it is, instead of getting educated or even read the articles you are commenting on. |

In any community not located in the 'Liberal, tree hugging' bay area we'd be using this offramp TODAY.... Most, if not ALL, of the problems in the bay area can be attributed to rampant extreme left wing liberal policies. It's the reason we have to travel to RP or SR to shop, have schools where English is treated a second language, roads with potholes, lack of affordable housing, rampant illegal immigration, gangs, graffiti, high unemployment, ridiculously high taxes, rampant homelessness, I could go on... |

Alive - what problems in Lidsville's last post do you not believe we are experiencing? And just who would you attribute these problems to?

Obviously it’s the “Politics as Usual” members of City Government to blame.
Living in Petaluma we see the same ole faces in City Hall, positions change from year to year, but the same thought processes still prevail. These are many of the same folks that promise Rainer during an election year, but after the election; once again time stands still. Failed and stalled projects dot the landscape. (It’s incredible!) Very poor management of City Government over the years has left citizens of Petaluma waiting at (awkwardly timed) stoplights in overcrowded intersections. When the light finally turns green you either get stuck in another red light (poor traffic engineering), or turn onto roads that are in such awful shape your suspension shakes to pieces. Petaluma needs new people to run for City office and bring a fresh management style that focuses on smart growth, and intelligent use of City funds. While I’m not a big advocate (nor totally opposed) of the Regency deal, I will admit they got taken to the cleaners. The City got the new Junior High and stuffed Regency’s face in the mud, at everybody’s expense, whether you are for or against the project. Who wants a reputation like that? I see however a new “Smoke shop /Mini Mart” opened Downtown, just doors away from the Mystic. I guess these types of businesses are ok; it is the third shop of it’s kind now in the Downtown area. I guess instead of Target we got the “Mini Mart” part of the deal. Pathetic, vote them all out of office! |

Great neutral opinion. |

I think we can trick the Majority Council to pass the much needed years of dragging feet overpass. Just rename it. "Duh" Overpass or "Smart" Overpass, "Torliatt" Overpass, this actually might get pushed thru with her name attatched to it.. It is obvious that the "Rainier" name is not getting it done..

The article attributes delays to three groups, none of which are the city or county government. One is a private contractor, one is the state and one is CalTrans. Perhaps there is some delay coming from the city and county, but the city is doing way more waiting than delaying on this one. |

Now that Miss Pam has her new planning commision streamlined they should be able to stream line this with all the parties involved. RIGHT. This is why miss Pam did all of this. To move the process along smoothly, faster, better with more qualified people than the OLD thinking board. Right? So now the hard working tax paying people of Petaluma can look forward to all of the promises coming true from all the candidates and Mayors. Right.

How much is the Walnut Creek firm of Grey, Bowen and Co, getting paid and who is paying? The City is laying people off but can afford to hire lobbyists?
